Trolley No. 3 Returned to Hershey

on Wed., June 7th 2006

 

 

(No. 3 leaving Germantown, Philadelphia)

 

Trolley No. 3 has been donated to HDTHS from Rockhill Trolley Museum.

Pete Davis of First Davis Corporation donated time, money, and equipment to transport No. 3 from Germantown in Philly to Hershey and unload at the West Car Barn in Hershey.

No. 3 as Combination Car  - 1904 to1928


 

 **Press Release** (June 3rd, 2006)

 

Trolley No. 3, an original Hershey Transit Company trolley built in 1904, is returning to Hershey.  The Hershey - Derry Township Historical Society recently acquired No. 3 through a donation from the Rockhill Trolley Museum.  No. 3 will be traveling back to Hershey on Wed., June 7th, from Germantown in Philadelphia , to the West Car Barn, the last home it knew in Hershey when the trolley line ended in 1946.  Many volunteers have been working on No. 3, preparing it for travel.  Pete Davis of First Davis Corp., is donating his time and equipment to move the trolley for the historical society.  For more information, please contact the society at hdths@hersheyhistory.org or 717-520-0748.
